Side-shore.nl, kiteboarding equipment

spoetnik - April 11, 2008 - 13:04

After weeks of development in my spare time, my first Drupal/Ubercart site is live. www.side-shore.nl sells kiteboarding equipment. At the moment my catalog is a bit empty, as I only sell the brand Royal kiteboarding at the moment.

I have developed a custom theme, based on the roople theme "Whitejazz". The modules used for this site;
cck
compact_forms
devel
faq
google_analytics
image
imagecache
imagefield
img_assist
pathauto
tapir
thickbox
tinymce
token
ubercart
ubrowser
update_status
views
webform
workflow_ng
xmlsitemap

I have a lot of ideas to put in this website, like a related movie for a product, iDeal payment (dutch payment) and lots more. I hope you like it. Please provide feedback, possitive, or less positive.

Thanks,

Martijn

Looks great! Only one thing

Looks great! Only one thing I'd probably do, 351kb is a little large for a front page image - can you not compress it any more than that? I'm not using dial up or anything, but I did still have to wait about four/ five seconds for the image to load.

Pobster

Thanks' you are right

Thanks for the feedback, I have changed the image. It's 52 Kb now.

Seems to be appearing twice

Fun!To offer some

Fun!

To offer some constructive criticism I think the images on the nodes are a few times too small. Nice thickbox action when you click on them, but I didn't think to do that the first time and even so, I think those thumbnails should be ~4 or 5x bigger on the node page. The tiny one is still good for the tables, but add another imagecache size for the nodes.

When I think 'kite boarding site' I also think "show me lots of cool photos, please..."
eg. "oo-ahh," http://www.tawbaware.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=4167

Maybe some magazine-style 'blurbs' of the gear in action up on the front page? eg. 'The Royal ERA 2008 Goes to Martinique Beach'

your wish.........

I have uploaded some pictures of our trip tp Egypt, El Gouna. No extreme actions pics, just enjoying a nice session Check http://www.side-shore.nl/news for the pics.
The news section wil grow fast the upcomming time, we have planned some demo-days in the comming week.

Ahh, photos. And bigger

Ahh, photos. And bigger ones.

Looks good.

Implicit to the gear is the experience..
