This looks like an interesting approach: http://smartsprites.osinski.name/. We can ditch the Java stuff and re-use their syntax?

Interesting approach. Personally Im not certain how much value that idea would really hold. If you are preparing stylesheets in such a way you really almost misewell just make the sprites. However saying all that I really do think the only way this is going to work properly is if we do 'prepare' stylesheets for potential sprite conversion, otherwise the box model issues and inheritance will just mess everything up
