Yes, we're using an older version of Drupal (5.1), but it's a one-person show here and I'm not up to trying to upgrade yet. I've researched the forums and can't find a similar problem/solution for this.
Problem: As an administrator, adding new content in IE does not allow us to click on Menu Settings, Comment Settings, Authoring Info, or Publishing Options. The option text is there, there's just nothing to click on to expand the option. These collapsible option blocks do work correctly in FF. We've tried different themes (Garland, pushbutton, etc) with no luck. Collapsible blocks seem to work in other admin areas for IE, for example IMCE Settings or FCKeditor, just not for Content.
Any help would be appreciated.

you should at least upgrade to the most secure version of Drupal 5.x 5.7 is full of security fixes and bug fixes.
being a one man shop is not a reason to be lazy when it comes to using a secure release.
had a similar problem
I've just had the same problem but not just in IE, and not just for create content. No collapsible fields worked at all. It happened while I was trying to get the admin screen working for lightbox2. I was either installing a version of Jquery update or following the install instructions for a previous version of lightbox - I had to try several things to get lightbox2 to work - and I had replaced collapse.js in the misc folder with an older version and not replaced it with the current version again. It took me ages to realise what I'd done.
I'm definately not an expert but if you've found this post while having trouble with collapsible fields, collapse.js might be a good place to start looking.
If you're struggling and need a workaround you can use firebug for firefox to alter the class of fieldsets so that you can get to them.
Same here
I'm trying to figure this out as well. Any ideas?

Updated to 5.15, same problem
I was running Drupal 5.12, but updated yesterday to 5.15 as well as a handful of security updates for other modules. I now have the same issue. Many, not all, but many setting menus can no longer be expanded or collapsed. I tried the advice of making sure that my j-query update module was updated and I even downloaded a fresh version, copying and pasting the fresh .js files into the misc directory. I have also run the update module and cron in hopes of being able to access the various settings menus. Any other solutions?

have you tried clearing cache ?
Hi, Thanks for the reply. I
Hi, Thanks for the reply. I tried clearing my cache tables in the database today. Didn't seem to help the problem. Still pretty stuck on this. Some menus are expanded while others are collapsed and I can not do anything to expand. Any other ideas?
Much appreciated.

The only thing I can think in this case is that the files you copied over didn't take. I'd try uploading them again.

If you're using the jquery_update module, you'll need to recopy the jquery_update/misc files to the /misc directory.

Thanks for the replies..
... so very strange, I logged into my site today after reading the helpful comments that had been posted ready to try things again only to find that everything appears to be working. The last thing I had tried was resetting the cache on Friday, but that did not appear to work at the time (confirmed on two different browsers, different computers).
I wish I could explain it, but I am grateful for the assistance. (Knocking on wood that it stays fixed.)
