Hi I own Savant Creative Group, http://www.savantcreative.com a highly ethical advertising agency and marketing consulting firm, offering website design, commercial photography, search engine optimization, search engine marketing services, branding, and logo design on Long Island, New York.

We only build fully Search Engine Optimized Web Sites for our clients. Can Drupal sites be fully optimized?

Drupal is a great platform for building SEO sites.

The data model is extremely flexible, supporting taxonomic classification of content, as well as allowing for any number of additional metadata fields.

The templating architecture allows complete control over the final HTML that is output, so can take advantage of good SEO practice.

The engine has built-in support for rules-based URL rewriting for readable URLs.

Plus, Drupal sites tend to be crawlable by search engine bots. This depends largely on implementation practice, but certainly can be planned for when building out a site.

My company has a very good record of search engine performance on the Drupal sites we've built out. PM me if you're interested in seeing some examples.

Is it a better product than Joomla? Can you compare them?

Thanks

This is Drupal.org so really, the question is not fair and this is not such a good place for that answer. If you want a less biased comparison I suggest a more generalized site such as sitepoint.com where you will have a much greater diversity of opinion and experience.

Drupal will work for your original question. You really need to spend some time testing both before committing to either or you risk becoming disillusioned and annoyed which causes rants :)

Hi Steven,
I am sorry about that post. You are right. This is not the place to ask that question. Please accept my apologies. I am just eager to learn and am having some trouble deciding.

We're just having a conversation so no worries. The only way to really be sure is to try both of them.
