Hi there,
I'm looking for someone who can help me with having the profile image (user picture) the size that I want, exactly like the module image_cache for other images that are *not* user profile images.
I need to be able to select the size of user profile pictures providing on which view they appear on.
I need to have the resized/cropping by center algorythm.
I need to be able to choose 4 different sizes.
Again this is exactly like image_cache, that I need for the user profile pictures.

thanks!
cristele

Here is an article that shows how to have different size user pictures/avatars on different pages. It only has 2 sizes, but you can easily extend that.

If you use the bio module to partially or completely manage profile fields - Bio module allows you to use an existing or CCK content-type as a template for profiles. You can then use the a CCK type created to match and process an image using image-cache, and then use that CCk & image-cache managed image in your profile presentation.

NB: To customise the presentation of these elaborate profiles, you can theme the profile (point the profile to a custom tpl template file) to get it to look exactly as you want (this will even enable you to benefit from VIEWS to further customise presentation). Let me know if you need more tips. I do not have time to take on this project in the immediate, but can consider taking up new work in the next few weeks.
