I have installed embedded media field and several different gallery modules (gallery2, acidfree..), but can not figure out easy way to produce a gallery from embedded video files (from youtube etc.).

What would be the recommended way for achieving this? I'm not afraid of coding, so I can contribute to e.g. embedded media field module if neccessary.

Make a view of your video content (using Views module) and then theme the view.

I can not see the option of thumbnail in the list of fields for the view. Could you elaborate: what am I missing here?

EDIT: success! (it seems)
The solution for someone wondering the same:
- content types -> embedded video -> display fields -> video field : teaser = image thumbnail
- site building -> views (select view you created for this) -> page (if you are using page, could be block etc.) -> viewtype = teaser list

Yes, but this means you need to print out the entire teaser.

Given that the video thumbnail is available, it would be nice if it could be added as a View field for lists and tables etc...
