i've installed the workflow, defined a simple set of states for a single workflow, and assigned that workflow type to the "story" content type.
when i select the "workflow" tab on any story - previously published or newly created - i see essentially nothing. just this:
Current state: (creation)
Workflow History Date Old State New State By Comment
no selectors, no indication of the workflow i've assigned.
i've clearly missed something. any idea what?

It's been a while since I played with the workflow module, and you don't elaborate on exactly what your workflow is, but I don't think anything shows up there until you've actually changed the state at least once-- I'm guessing "creation" is the first state. Try changing the state and check again.

there's not much to elaborate. i set up a workflow called "single story" and assigned three steps to it: create, approve, launch. i then assigned that workflow to the "story" node type.
when creating or editing a Story, i don't get any options to assign/change workflow states at all. "creation" is just the default first step in any workflow, and seems to be automatically assigned. and nothing can be done beyond that.

Ok--then that's probably why nothing is listed there. Did you go through the example in the README.txt (it seems there's more to it than simply creating the states)? I would try that-- if it works, then you can at least confirm that the module is installed & working properly.

thanks.
i think what i'd missed was that i hadn't set up the from/to section... which must mean that somehow i missed the "edit" area entirely. which is dumb, and i don't want to believe it, but i'm always sort of teetering on the edge of total confusion with this system anyway.
but i think i got it. mostly. kind of.
thanks again :-)

You're welcome and no worries... it's easy to miss stuff, even obvious stuff. Sometimes all it takes is another pair of eyes.
