i created a catalog (category), and term A and term B. i have product A, product B, etc. i loaded pictures to term A and term B, as well as products A,B...

now if i click my catalog, it shows my terms A, B and their thumbnails. if i click term A (or B), it shows all the products within in the grid format (that's how i chose), but without a thumbnail. however, if i click product A (or B...) it shows the product description with a thumbnail.

i checked the source code of the page showing term A, it does not contain picture files for the products within.

my question is "does the ubercart cataglog have thumbnails?" it appears "no" because of the source code does not contain one.

but i saw most demo sites have that feature. so is it a custom feature, or is it my setup issue?

A standard install of Ubercart should have thumbnails. Can you post or PM a link to the site so we can have a look? Also, You might get more and better help by posting to the Ubercart forums

I don't know if this is realated, but I just installed ubercart (the latest release) onto a sandbox site yesterday, and noticed i had to go in a manually set up the image fields/imachecahche/ect for each product type and class. I could've sworn that i didn't have to do this manually before, though I honestly do not remember.

ok I have found the solution ...

go to /admin/store on your site. It's the first page of store administration.
check the status message ... below store administration ...

you can see an images title, follow the instructions ... click on the link and ubercart automatically will create for you the imagefield that ubercart will use for generate thumbs in grid view ...

For me at least images aren't shown as links are broken.

Here interesting things I have found.
In firefox path for a full size image is: /sites/default/files/ if I am logged in as a administrator.

But if I am not logged in it will be: /sites/default/files/imagecache/product_full/

Images seems to be uploaded to /sites/default/files/ but there is only full size images. thumbnails can be found from sites/default/files/imagefield_thumbs

This imagecache is giving me really bad headache right now....

At least it worked for me. It's hard to understand how it can be so hard to get that imagecache module working.
