Description

I like this module, and except for some CSS issues in the beginning it works great. However there is a huge feature lacking that I think it would be pretty easy to implement. I uploaded a huge PPT file via FTP into the asset folders (since I really don't think it was necessary to up the PHP upload limit to 50MB for a one time file upload), and was surprised to see that Asset did not automatically detect the file. So I looked around and saw I need to enable the Asset_Import module. This seemed like an unnecessary step, like this feature should be included in the base Asset module, but whatever. Then I come to see that it really does only allow you to import images! It seems like allowing other asset types to be imported would be cake. I looked through the asset_import code, but decided I didn't have the time to hack it so I would just put up a feature request and try other modules. Add this feature and it would be my go-to file module.

Cheers
