hey everyone! i have a real noob question. How do i create more tabs like the ones on this page on the upper right hand side? what would you call that? you have your main page but then you have you other sections that branch out like different chapters, is there a specific name for that?

These are primary links. To edit them on your site go to Administer, Site Building, Menu (admin/build/menu) and click Primary Links. There you can add new items. You can also do it while creating new node (using Menu options).

yah i tried that and it didn't really do what i wanted it to do.......to create a primary link you have to have content there or else it wont find it, right? for example when i set up clean URL i want it to read www.example.com/pictures/... not www.example/node/4... you know? basically im setting up an event site and i want a link on my home page to a restaurants page, that will be a base page from which you can select a restaurant from a list and it will send you to a page with info about a the restaurant you choose

to alter paths on yoru site, use the path.module (part of core) to create url aliases or pathauto.module for automation of this type of task.

For creation of lists, you want to investigate the views.module on top of correctly using taxonomy to organize your content.
