I'm looking at adding a module to my site (RSS aggregator) and I'm trying to determine the 'right' module for my site.

One of the criteria I'm concerned about is the overall quality of the module, and I'm not interested in evaluating every RSS module available for basic quality. Additionally, I'd like to be able to search for modules with specific features, such as the ability to group collections of feeds, filter based on keywords, etc.

What I'm looking for, I think, is a rating system for modules. Specifically, a user rating system.

I'd like to be able to view the module list and sort based on user rating. This should, in theory, allow me to quickly identify the community's favorite modules and from there I'll be able to do my own evaluation.

My questions:

1) Is there currently a rating system? If so, how do I find/use it?
2) If this doesn't exist, is there a way to easily add it to the modules listing?
3) How do other people handle this type of situation?

I recognize there's a slippery slope to favoritism that hinders development of new modules but honestly, as a new Drupal user, I find the module situation to be unmanageable.

Whats up man..

There is an article floating somewhere about (if someone can find it and reply, that would be great) Where Dries himself addressed the need for module rating and download, And talk of Implementing it.

But in the meantime drupalmodules Is more than enough to suite your needs thanks to the hard work of John Forsythe and others.

Not sure if this is the implementation Dries was talking about.
read the intro to the site here

hope it helps
