Which module to get started with coding for Drupal

maccnl - April 16, 2008 - 08:30

I'm looking for a relative simple module which I can use to get acquainted with Drupal module building and give a boost to my PHP-skills (which are pretty humble).

Which module will be good for me to start with? I want to look at the code, help with issues, etc. If the code is too much/overwhelming I won't be able to grasp it.

Any advice?

'Documentation' link

In the upper-left corner there's a 'Documentation' link. Lots of stuff there. Particularly in 'Developing for Drupal'

p.s. you might want to start with the module developer's guide

Try the blog module first.

Try the blog module first. Page is simple but maybe too simple if you have previous PHP experience. You also might want to look at one of the simpler themes. A lot of what Drupal does is in the theming system.
