xawer - April 16, 2008 - 13:32

Hi
I looking at HostV.com as potential host. Could you please let me know how to find out that thaey support drupal or not?
Thanks

They do. Go to this

They do. Go to this page:

http://hostv.com/features.shtml#2

Click on the Fantastico link and you'll see a list of features including one-click Drupal install.

That being said, since they are running Linux/Apache servers you should be able to install Drupal instances yourself as well.

I'm going to do my best not

I'm going to do my best not to start another one of those crazy Fantastico discussions here, but my recommendation is to install it yourself if you can make it happen.

That said, I first found out about Drupal through Fantastico so I can't really bash it...

Fantastico Isn't All That Great

Brian@brianpucc... - April 16, 2008 - 14:29

Please be aware that Fantastico isn't all the great. I wouldn't use it to install Drupal (or WordPress or phpBB or anything else, really).

BTW - I wasn't suggesting

BTW - I wasn't suggesting you should use Fantastico. I just located this on the host specs page and saw that it included a Drupal install so I'm assuming you can also install Drupal manually on your site via their host server.

I agree with the other posts here - you should definitely install Drupal manually.

No Harm, No Foul

No problem, just wanted it to be clear to the OP that Fantastico may not be best and why. Thanks for your help!

Absolutely, Fantastico is

Absolutely, Fantastico is just a dead end - install it yourself and you will be much better off.

Hello! I think that you need

Hello!
I think that you need to ask HosV.com directly as well. And ask them if they can install it for you. Once they are agreed on that you can consider them as your ne host.
But are you sure that you need VPS to start? HostV.co is Vps provider mostly ;)

HostV VPS

infowarp - May 29, 2008 - 03:17

HostV are actually the VPS section of Cirtex hosting, so you could start on a shared account with Cirtex and they will upgrade you to a HostV vps when you need to.

Discount coupons are available for both here
