I'm a little confused as to the relationship between these two modules. Are they two separate solutions to the same problem or can they be used together? Can I create custom content in CCK and then input it into panels?

In fooling around with panels it seems like it just replaces the old create content system while CCK modifies the old content creation system.

I've been exploring panels 2 with the latest stable version of CCK. Totally lost here...
