I can not get reCAPTCHA to work. When I enable it on a form, I get a math CAPTCHA screen instead.

I've followed the download and install instructions properly. Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Does your server have access to the reCAPTCHA servers? If the server thinks that reCAPTCHA is down, it presents the math CAPTCHA instead.

I have the same problem. On the page where I want Captcha to appear, http://www.comminit.com/en/node/add/ci_associates, I get:

CAPTCHA
This question is for testing whether you are a human visitor and to prevent automated spam submissions.

And I do not get the remainder of the reCaptcha elements.

All the best,

Mike

** UPDATE **

form-item > description was hidden and I have re-exposed it.

This is probably due to your web hosting control panel blocking outgoing IP connections.

In your control panel you should look for a feature to block/unblock outgoing IP connections. If you have it, there would be a list of IP addresses that were blocked. You can use a service like http://whatismyipaddress.com to find out which IP addresses belong to Google (owners of reCAPTCHA) and it should be safe to allow these.
