Instead of adding something that you have to hook out in another module, I thought just adding an textarea to eval for the sort fuction would be good for now. I'm attaching a patch for the module file and the README.txt that gives example input.
I used cvs diff so you can just use "patch < tagadelic.module.add-custom-sort.patch" to apply from within the tagadelic directory

Bèr Kessels commentednice feature.
But I won't commit this as is. It needs to respect permissions. And even then: I consider the very possibility to add PHP code into a database, a security hole.
Can we not design a hook that is called, so that other modules can provide sorting?
