How do you put a module within a page?

Heya,
How do you put a module within a page - as apposed to going directly to the module? Like I have the "events" module and I need to place it within a page so I can add some things around it...

How you use it…

depends on the module. Some provide a block of information that can be displayed on various pages, some can include in a node by different means. You need to read what Events provides.

If you can’t find the documentation you need on the events project page, ask for support there.

Just before you replied I found a block in the 'blocks menu' that enables it on specific pages. But nothing in the documentation, from what I see, suggests how to include it - beside like an iframe or something.

Any other ideas?

Thanks!

If that’s how it works…

Then that’s what you get.

I think you need the events project page.

Normally blocks are for sidebars and peripheral regions. If I understand correctly you want one in the content region. This module may help

Hey Rusty, I've seen this

kwgossett - April 19, 2008 - 03:09

Hey Rusty,
I've seen this module before, but shy'ed away from it because it was in development stage. Do you know if its stable, does what it is supposed to do w/o any hacking, etc? If so, I'm curious why its still in development stage...since June '07?

Thanks,
kwg

The best way to get to terms with it , is to test it on a test site. Some maintainers haven't rolled them into a numbered release for different reasons.

Maybe the todo list isn't fnished
maybe the get a headache with CVS
maybe ......

the new project module deployed on drupal.org and the built in update status module may change this over time. many -dev modules are stable however again, my suggestion is to test it on a test site to soothe your own soul.

As VM said, it is up to the developer what -dev means. It is often useful to take a look at its issues queue to see what people complain about and to get an idea about what to expect.

I tried it for a while some time ago and it seemed to work ok.

No reason to be

No reason to be paranoid.
It's probably just not tagged because it got to a satisfactory state, and was left alone. Many developers (myself included) forget the final packaging and marketing step once the code has got past 'proof-of-concept'. :-}

Reptag also offers the same functionality, to insert blocks in arbitrary places in your page from custom tags via an input filter.

It has a green version release. Not that that means anything, but it may make you feel more comfortable.
