(this is a cross post -- also posted in the Panels Issue queue.)

Hi,

Using panels, with the ability to create a "custom node" -- ie. content on the fly -- within a pane on a panel, do you think it would be possible to enable the FCKeditor on that text field? Where would I start on that?

The id is set in the visibility settings and can see the FCKeditor code on the text area id, however I am not seeing the js files in the head of the popped html page.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry, I haven't used that module yet...
Could you write a quick step by step instruction to be able to see that "create a custom node -- ie. content on the fly" feature in action?

Hi there,

a quick list of steps.

1. Install panels 5.2 beta 3 - http://drupal.org/node/241490
2. Enable all the panels modules - you prob don't need to enable Legacy views panes
3. Create a new Panels page. Choose any layout -- flexible is fine.
4. Fill out the basic setting info (ie. title, path, etc). Click next.
5. You should see a bunch of control tabs -- choose "Content".
6. Now for any of the "panes" click the + button.
7. From the popup window, in the upper left, choose "New Custom Content"
8. In there, is a node body field that I would like the FCK editor applied to.

Thanks for your interest in this problem, I'm sure it's not a simple thing.

Mike

I also would love to have this functionality. It is important especially for the panels integration for groups, to make it easier for group administrators to customize their group pages.

Sounds like it isn't possible until Panels is ported to D6:
