Issue Summary
Need to sort refferers by particular field in referring node (in my case date field). Is this possible? There are only two choices of sorting referrers (reverse chronological order and chronological order).

no and would be extremely difficult for me to implement in in the field.. try using the new views code and setting up sort on the other fields via views. post your recipe back to this issue if you can and I'll make a doc page with it.
