Description

Similar to JanRain's widget only without all the legal crud. I think this would help promote OpenID and Drupal in general.

The default should be the local site, then drupal.org, then a bunch of popular commercial sites, but all should be configurable in admin/settings/openid/selector

+1, this would be very cool, and useful as it makes it easier for people to log in to your site. Also makes it easier to understand what OpenID really is, when people see that they can log in using their Flickr, Yahoo or Blogger account.

+1 from me, too.

I think ID Selector is a nice and moreover an useable way for the users to select AND to get intouch with other OpenID Providers.

@thebossgoteratv - the fact that JanRain's widget can be used is beside the point. The point is that you have to agree to their rather domineering Terms of Service and it therefore cannot be distributed with Drupal. We also need something that integrates with Drupal's admin interface and is hosted locally rather than depending on a (JanRain's) web service.

Yes, I also thought that it is needed. So I started a project for that (http://drupal.org/project/comfortid). The first release should be built in several hours. I hope there will be people that would want to join this project and help to improve the usability of ComfortID.
