Hello Everyone, newbie here.

I am a programmer by nature and have decided to stop killing myself by building all of my websites and managing them by hand.

So, I'm trying Drupal. But, I'm frustrated with a few options. I've got a theme installed, basic "ability" theme and I simply want to add images to my website.

I have a "logo" to add, but when I create a content block and add an Only local images are allowed. tag to the page with the src

for example:

Lets test this image.
Only local images are allowed.

The only thing I see is the text "Lets test this image?"

I'm currently hosting this site on "Siteground" and I have a local development environment, neither of which works. I also installed the image modules, thinking that might have something to do with it.

Any advice, tutorials or guides would greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Bryan

Lets test this image:

Take a look at the "Input Format" you have set for the block you are making. (right below the Block Body in the form)

Drupal has a *very* flexible setup for filtering text via input filters which you can organize in the "Input Formats" section of the admin. I have a feeling you are just using the default filtered html setting right now.

you may need to open the "Input Format" options when creating your content (look below the main entry field) and select "full HTML" instead of (possibly default) "filtered HTML" which disallows most tags including img.

err whoops, moonshine wins : )

I have set the Full HTML filter. It was already set as a default, based on a tutorial that recommended that setting. Any other ideas or information that would be helpful for me to post? Is there anyway to quickly test viewing images in Drupal, on a live or test site?

Well a few thoughts:

a) Search the page source and see if the img tag is being included but your path to the image is incorrect.

b) Double check that "Full HTML" is used for that block, and if it is then check the Input Format settings for Full HTML in the Admin (admin-> site configuration -> input formats) isn't set to strip img for some reason

If the entire img tag is not showing up in the page source but *is* in your block code then it's most certainly a input filter stripping it.

You could also try clearing your cache in case you have caching enabled. It's at the bottom of the Performance page in the admin (admin -> site configuration -> performance)

Well, it worked, It was my input filter admin settings. When I installed this, my Drupal 6 came complete with all filters enabled.

So, despite selecting "Full HTML" in the block Code and "Full HTML" in the (admin-> site configuration -> input formats) . There was still a problem.

Since my Only local images are allowed. tags were not appearing in the page source, as Moonshine stated, "Then it must be a filter issue."

In the (admin-> site configuration -> input formats) page, I selected Configure for "FULL HTML", There are 5 checkboxes under "Filters." I had them all checked. When I turned off "HTML Filter" it worked.

So, despite all of these other "FULL HTML" checkboxes, the key was my configuration of the "FULL HTML." Seems silly to have an HTML FILTER on the "FULL HTML" configuration, since that is covered by another Input Format all together??

Anyway its working, and I wouldn't have figured it out without your help...This newbie is very pleased! Damn, I can't wait till I can removed "newbie" from my middle name...but for the time being I am...many thanks, folks!

You'll probably be hearing from me more soon!

Cheers
