Hi!
I am trying to set up Advanced Profile working with nodeprofiles. I have successfully done up to step #7 in http://drupal.org/node/214348, but, when trying to add a relationship for "nodeprofile from user", the only option that I get in the Relationships combobox is "User bio", and I see no "relationship type".
My nodeprofile content type is shown and marked in the "Select types to add edit types for" in the Advanced Profile admin page.
Although I have the bio module installed, it is not enabled as a user profile.
Can anyone help me on this?
Thanks in advance,
Carlos.

michelleWhen nodeprofile took over the panels integration, the relationship name changed to "user ". I need to update that in the docs. You should only be seing "user bio" if the content type you are using for nodeprofile is named bio.

I think that the first time I have tried to set up the relationship its name was "user". I will try again, and post the result here.

Carlos.

zottmann commentedHi!
After upgrading advanced profile to alpha4, nodeprofile to 1.4 and cck to 1.7, and still having no success, I finally got it right. It only works for nodeprofile if I uninstall the Bio module from the site.
If I just do not use the bio content type for user profiles, but still have the Bio module installed, then the only relationship that I am able to add is "user bio".
Thanks a lot for the great module!
Regards,
Carlos.

Oh, you're trying to use them both at the same time? No wonder you're having problems. The modules both do the same thing and really aren't meant to be used together. I've never actually tried it, so I don't know what, specifically is conflicting, but my recommendation is to just pick one or the other.

zottmann commentedI was testing combinations of user profile solutions in a test site, to get wich one would give me better results in the long run, regarding integration with other modules (views, buddylist, etc...)
I never used the bio module and nodeprofile together. I was trying one at a time, disabling each content type as a user profile, but not actually uninstalling each module. This procedure never got me in trouble before, so I though i could go the same way with advprofile.
But, in order to get advprofile working with nodeprofile, the bio module must be uninstalled from the system.
Anyway, thanks again!!

Carlos.

Ofer Morag commentedHi,
I am having a difficult time installing Advanced Profile. The tutorials are taking me part of the way towards a full installation, but I'm missing something along the way.
Is someone available to assist?
Thank you,

zottmann commentedOfer,
I have just got my first advanced profile installation working, so I am really not an expert in this issue, but feel free to ask whatever you want. If it happens to match one of the doubts that I had along the way, I may be able to help you...
Regards,
Carlos.

Ofer Morag commentedThank you Carlos,
I believe I've completed the installation of Advanced Profile, however I am not able to see a user profile that is any different than the traditional basic one (with the name, password, and photo).
How do I go about accessing the Advanced User Profile to create custom fields and have it appear in the person's profile?
Thank you,
Ofer Morag

zottmann commentedOfer I in the process of trying it to, but, as far as I have gone, you must chose the way you are going to handle your profile (core profile, bio or nodeprofile) and, after creating your fields, than you may go to the content tab of your panel or mini-panel, and then add or remove content to your advanced profile page.
Anyway, I think that this does not belong to this topic. Maybe it would be better to open a new forum topic dedicated to this, so more people may pay attention to it and help us to. If you like, you may send me questions through my contact page here in drupal.org.
Regards,
Carlos.
