Comparisons with other CMSes aer never really possible. It is comparing apples and oranges.
But The way drupal and the drupal community is set-up allows for very little security issues to slip into core. The contibutions, however, are something else. They are rarely reviewed on security issues, by other people then their maintainers. So using any contrib modules might (and thus will) decrease security of your site.
