Instead of a seperate module for keeping track of ignore list, it would be better if this integrates with user relationships module (or other buddylist modules). So you all you relationships friends, banned, ignored users can be in one place.

Makes sense to me too. The privatemsg module is another popular module that could benefit of this integration.
