I'm trying to use the CCK Facet Module which is still in development, I'm hoping I can get it to work as I really need the features it provides, it says that you need to use it with a development version of the Faceted Search module, I'm wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to obtain usable functionality from this, if so which version of Faceted Search module would work best with it? Also, is there any other module that would provide similar functionality to the CCK Facet Module that is more mature? Thanks for any advice

Not sure about the state of affairs when you have tried this, but at the moment Faceted Search 1.0 beta4 works with CCK Facets 1.0 beta2. If you have trouble making it work, you may post a support request.
