I've been searching for several days now and finally found this nifty example module that does word substitutions on content before it's output to the browser:
http://api.drupal.org/api/file/developer/examples/filter_example.module/5 This is pretty much what I want to do on my site, with the addition of a user profile_nocensor setting, which I already have in place, to determine whether to filter or not, and using Custom Filter to define the filter to use.
Is there already a module to do this? If not, is anybody out there working on one?
I'm a Drupal noob but I know enough PHP and SQL to put something together from the example; at this point I just don't want to if I don't have to. I'd also be happy to help test your stuff if you are working on this.
