I've been playing around with e107 recently and am very impressed. It boasts a large feature set and is simple to learn.

I'm still a Drupal newbie, and am still not completely sold on it. Don't get me wrong - Drupal is a wonderful product, especially considering it's free. But I've run into several frustrations which have made me cast a wandering eye in the direction of other CMSs.

e107 seems to have a shorter learning curve. Yes, it has its own terminology which takes some getting used to, and small usability improvements could be made. But all in all I was very impressed with how easy it was to get something up and running in little time.

In my opinion it's a surprisingly mature product, considering its age (only at version 0.6).

Anyway, just wanted to throw my two cents in there. For anyone who is tearing their hair out over Drupal, I would suggest giving e107 a try.

I agree that e107 is a great CMS. What I especially like is the huge range of themes that have been developed there. That is something I wish Drupal could catch up on.

Without going over there and searching for a long time to find out whether or not it support multi-site, would you know if e107 do have multi-site feature/support?

In my quick scan of the documentation I didn't see anything about multi-site support. However, read this for a possible workaround. (Perhaps "workaround" is the wrong word; maybe e107's developers intended multi-site support all along.)

Apparently you can add a prefix to the db tables at install, kind of like Wordpress. However, I don't know if the multiple sites will run off the same code base (they do not in Wordpress, at least not yet - this will be a feature in a later release).

Hi Sas...

thanks for the heads up..I remember checking out e107 before discovering drupal and can't remember why I didn't like it.

Do you know if the forum they have is out of the box or a plugin/hack of the phpbb software?

cheers

Yep, they were a trifle to set up too. Easier than Drupal, in my opinion. And they look darn good, though the style was nicked from Invision.
