Templatemonster launches drupal templates.

Jax - April 25, 2008 - 14:28

I just noticed thate Templatemonster now has drupal templates (http://www.templatemonster.com/drupal-themes.php). This is great news for small businesses that want a goodlooking site at an affordable price.

Before I let them pick any template but the cost of converting it was never really cheap. Although I also recently discovered http://www.psd2html.com/order-now.html which would make that more affordable. Anyone has any experience with this last service?

PSD2HTML.com service

PSD2HTML.com - April 30, 2008 - 16:51

Hello there,

We are PSD2HTML.com and would like to add some comments on this topic.

PSD2HTML.com will implement your design for a variety of popular software like Drupal, Wordpress, Movable Type, Joomla, Pligg, Blogger, X-Cart, and others. As a result you get a credible, modern site platform done on an open-source CMS.

If you provide an access to the server we'll be able to install a theme. Otherwise we can send a full dump of the site in addition to a theme, including the database. The implementation of additional modules and plug-ins as well as a creation of customized functionality is also possible. All we need is your design.

You are welcome to read some feedbacks about our service here: http://drupal.org/node/242847

Some Additional Input

W3-MARKUP - June 13, 2008 - 01:20

Hi Jax, just some comments worthy of note. The benefit of the code production services out there is that they are going to provide a theme for your specific needs and wants. The template sites play a slightly different role because they save you time if you happen to find a design template that works for your need. So if you have some custom artwork and you need it masterfully implemented into Drupal, you can save a lot of time getting things done by using a code production service. I hope this helps. There are many ways to skin a cat. :)

Review of TM's Drupal themes

stephthegeek - September 25, 2008 - 05:59

We recently took a look under the hood of a couple of TemplateMonster Drupal themes and weren't too impressed :\ Just a warning.. also check the comments there.

The good news is that if you just treat them as a Photoshop mockup to work from, it's much more appealing ;)

TemplateMonster Drupal Themes

JackBlatt - November 4, 2008 - 16:43

Actually since the 1st release we've made a lot of fixes based on comments of our customers and now our drupal themes are much more reliable to drupal developers and casual users. We've also released 5 free well optimized themes which we would like to share with Drupal community (they would be contributed within 5 days or so) so keep in touch with us.

BTW all your comments about our drupal themes you could send to(promo (doggy) templatemonster.com)

Regards,
Jack

Personally not very impressed w/Template Monster

Techivist - December 22, 2008 - 09:28

I´ve looked under the hood as well and, with all due respect, I´m just not very impressed. Even just on a casual glance I wasn´t very impressed (hence why I wanted to look under their hood) because they, honestly, all look alike, design-wise. They all seem to have the same layout, login in the same place, etc. It just feels like the same person just cranked ´em out only changing colors & images.

Don´t get me wrong, I know Template Monster is one of the industry heavyweights & I definitely appreciate their contributions of themes to our Drupal community. I was just expecting more variety from such a huge site.

Now a template site that I´m *really* impressed with is www.themeforest.com. They have a variety of really well-designed templates, in general. However, they only have 2 Drupal themes as of this writing (1 for 5.x & 1 for 6.x). It would be really awesome if that community got nudged to create more Drupal templates.

The service that I´m *really* looking to try out is www.psd2cssonline.com. Seems pretty straight-forward- upload your .psd file & they´ll convert it to clean css. Since I haven´t tested it, I´m not sure how it would work for Drupal but I loved the idea when I first read about it. :)

Just my $0.02,

I don't know the reason but all drupal themes have a old fashion look, i check out the templatemonster drupal themes and while joomla or wordpress look like web2 professionnal templates, the drupal templates seems always to come from the past.
