The warning "Changes made to the attachments are not permanent until you save this post." is a good thing, but the wording is not clear to everyone, particularly the less Internet savvy.

I think there are two problems:
1. It is not necessarily clear what an "attachment" is. If you've attached files on webmail this makes sense.
2. Not everyone knows what a "post" is.

How about this wording:
"Images uploaded are not saved until the form is submitted."

"Form" is informative to almost everyone, as is the concept of saving.

"submitted" has been replaced by "saved" in Drupal 6, let's not reintroduce it.

"Images" instead of "attachments" sounds good to me.

"Form" instead of "post" is technically incorrect, because you don't save the form but the content that is entered into the form. Perhaps "%nodetype" instead of "post"?

@jpetso, yes but this is D5 not D6 and the wording matches the help text for single value fields regarding image replacement... We'll call this fixes since I committed it DRUPAL-5--2...

@threexk: would you mind opening a D6 issue and coming up with recommended wording based on jpetso's input? I'm not sure how well using the node type name will work... say the node type was called 'Image'...
'Images are not saved until the Image is saved'??
