Since The Release of Drupal 6...

Johnny - April 26, 2008 - 05:40

I launch a lot of sub domains of Drupal - I am managing over 75 drupal sites and the number is growing weekly.

I think for the release of Drupal 7 we should have a check all function for the permissions and modules pages.

Home » Administer » User management
Access control

Home » Administer » Site building
Modules

This will greatly speed up the launching of sites that use identical modules

I have configurations of modules set up for launching different types of Drupal sites.

And I believe this would be a great feature for organizations like my own that are launching sometimes 2 - 3 sites a week
This week was busy - I launched 4 sites with identical modules.

By this time next year I will be managing over 200 Drupal sites because the majority of clients get a Drupal site with their package.

Kind Regards,

It would probably be best to add this to the issue queue as a feature request.

It might also be nice to have as a module a "copy permissions for X role to Y role" functionality for sites that have many roles that are similar - so you copy role P to role then fine tune the access saving a lot of clicks.

While I agree that a "check all" checkbox would be great for long lists, you should check out the Admin Role module. It may help with the permissions part, anyway. Maybe you could persuade the maintainer to update the module for Drupal 6...

I tried out the admin role module on a test site (d5) and it didn't work. (Not a big deal.)

Still, I a check all option would be great - I've got over 100 access control checkboxes on my test site (less on my active one).

~silverwing - not complaining, just observing...
