event module not conforming to theme

markybob@drupal.org - August 14, 2003 - 00:26

take a look at this screen shot

using drupal 4.2.0 and unconed theme. anyone know how to fix that?

I am facing the same problem

artsee - August 14, 2003 - 21:02

Yes - the event.module presents itself differently when posted to the front page.

1. Presentation of the Headline is not in the font-style like the rest.

2. Poster details, time and taxonomy links are NOT presented.

3. It also inserts a horizontal rule. (Which I actualy like, but would like to see that happen on all posts to the front page)

I am using the xtemplate theme with some modifications.

In addition, the weblinks.module also presents differently - but in this case - only on the main listing page of all the weblinks posted.

Added to that, the URL links look strange with a "return to" text prefixed to the link.

My website is at http://www.artsee.net/portal - disclaimer: like markybob's site, I am also still checking it out.

Look forward to constructive proposals to address these bugs. Otherwise DRUPAL rocks, and this site too! Thanks.

Yoe need a node_event function

killes@www.drop.org - August 14, 2003 - 22:18

With this function in your theme you can override the default node_event function which is a bit dull.

?

markybob@drupal.org - August 14, 2003 - 22:37

How do i apply that function? I dont know much about drupal's inner workings or how to fix this myself without detailed instructions

heh...it works, plus new features

markybob@drupal.org - August 14, 2003 - 22:59

check this out.

i dont suppose it's 'official', but it's an event.module that works with themes and there's some neat features, like a new calendar view. enjoy

Thanks for the pointer!

This version has gone a long way. Need to investigate it.

no worries. heads up, though

markybob@drupal.org - August 14, 2003 - 23:15

no worries. heads up, though, you need to recreate your event table in your database using the supplied even.mysql. also, be sure the place the event.css in ~drupal~/misc. this file control what the big calendar looks like, so feel free to edit it to whatever colors you want and so forth.

I am not worried at all

killes@www.drop.org - August 14, 2003 - 23:21

but rather happy that somebody else has implemented interesting stuff that I Always Wanted To Do(tm).

Default Node Even

I would rather override the default node_event function which is a bit dull.
But your way is also great i mean editing it to whatever colors you want and so forth

Ancient post

Do you realize you're replying to a nearly 4 year old post? Event and Drupal have changed quite a bit since then. If you're having issues with the current version, I suggest using the issue queue.
