As stated by others, this module is currently incompatible with the latest version of the nicEdit. nicEdit is the most suitable editor for Drupal core 7, but it's making a bad first impression. Could we please have more active development? or a let know of what's needed to update this module. I can't code well but I might be able to help.

Issues I've noticed:

Can't Ctrl-paste (File -> Paste, works)
Can't enable or disable new buttons, Must enable 'Full panel view' to see new buttons

What has to be done with the "nicedit for drupal module" or is work needed for nicedit itself?

you aren't getting responses because this module has been abondoned by the original developer. check the project page, dev name. all modules that have been abandoned have been placed under the adandoned modules user
