There is no way to do this at this time. Patches are welcome.

I understand you are exploring moveable type mostly now but will you consider joining or adding to http://drupal.org/project/pin

Perhaps you could borrow the import feature.

If I specify a range say "promo1234" and someone uses promo1234 is that code now used?

Actually, I'm only using Movable Type for my own blog, which has nothing to do with the what I use the promotion module for at work. That use has not changed.

That said, I primarily maintain this module for work and examine other patches on my own time. If you want to contribute a patch, I will evaluate it for inclusion, but I will not make this improvement myself unless my employer asks me or one of our development partners to improve the software in this direction. I simply don't have the time.
