a release date for D6?

Just wondering if there is a release date for a D6 version of admin_menu??

I am aware of discussion at http://drupal.org/node/109295

In response, there are clear features of admin_menu that simplemenu does not have, and i can understand calls for merging of the two. I currently like admin_menu for D5, though see a variant of it as a separate menu for logged in users (menu items reflective of permissions) as potentially beneficial.

Given the discussion regarding the possibility of 'turning admin_menu into a Dynamic Rendering plugin', will a release be rolled out matching the D5 version, or would this be held off until a decision is made on the direction this module will take?
