RFP for various GMaps/Location configuration

kwgossett - April 28, 2008 - 19:31

Hello All,
I am looking for an experienced Drupal user, with proven experience using Google Maps, Locations and other mapping modules who can help complete a few missing peices on my site. I dont anticipate any custom coding - just configuring existing modules to complete the following tasks:

1) I want members to be able to search for events, attractions & members within 5, 10, 25, 50 & 100 miles from their default location. I would anticipate this to be a block that can be added to various pages where members are likely to search.
2) I want members to be able to view a 'map of events' in addition to a calendar of events. Unlike the calendar, once an event has passed, it should be removed from the map view, such that only current events are shown on the map. A user should also be able to filter the map by date range or other taxonomy terms that are not geographic specific. In other words, they can filter the map by taxonomy tags 'adventure & recreation' or 'health & fitness'....but not 'Dallas, TX' as the map should allow them to zoom in/out to any geographic location, removing the need for geographic taxonomy terms.
3) When an event is created, I want the event to pick up on address of the venue (street, city, state & zip code), and place a google map on the event description. There may be other/better ways to accomplish this - in the end, I want a map of the venue on the event description.
4) A member's profile should contain a map of events they've attended in the past, color coded by taxonomy terms (15 terms total).
5) A member's profile should contain a map of events (same as #3) but with the events they're attending in the future(RSVP/Signup), but only visible to their 'buddies' - we dont want any non-buddies stalking anyone.

This list is prioritized in order of importance to me. Feel free to ask questions, comment on do-ability, or ROFL. Like any RFP, I would expect to see work you've done with Google maps, preferably more complicated views. Impress me with your mapping skills, and you'll likely get the job.

Thank you all in advance,

Kelly
