Sorting a view by profile info

I have a select in the user profile for the following types of person:

Community, Youth, Arts and Business

I then have a "view" which displays News posted by any of these types of user. (eg: just a filter on content type "news")

I would like to order the view so that if a user is logged in and is for example a "Community" person, the news articles posted by other "Community" users are at the top of the view list. Secondary ordering would be by node created time.

Is this possible?

I see there is a sort option for my profile drop down, but I think it just orders it alphabetically rather than looking at the logged in user. Do I need to use an argument somehow? Or would an argument filter rather than sort my news?
