Is Godaddy basic hosting any good?
Hello guys!
Is Godaddy hosting (the economy plan) any good to host my Drupal website?
I'm mostly concerned about page load times, which I've heard are usually caused by slow database access.
I will be using the normal caching mode and CSS compression. Should I be really concerned about this?
Has anyone experienced any problems with Godaddy hosting?
Thanks in advance,
Cristian

No. Don't use any Godaddy
No.
Don't use any Godaddy hosting.
You can have sites that work ok, but theres a chance they won't (certain things don't worry on Godaddy).
GoDaddy is Not a Good Choice for Drupal
GoDaddy is a cheap web hosting solution company. If you look at the features of their package, you probably think it's ok, but once you host your Durpal site there, you may find the speed is not fast enough for Drupal, and this is the thing will feel only after signing the service with them.
Top 10 Web Hosting
eCommerce does not work on
eCommerce does not work on godaddy because they require https requests go through a proxy server. I've wasted hours trying to make it work and I'm giving up and moving my site somewhere that supports fsockopen.
I wouldn't use a domain
I wouldn't use a domain registrar as a hosting company...find one that just does hosting and has proper support on-site.
godaddy MySQL slow
I've used GoDaddy hosting for a couple years now, and am looking for another web host. I find that their MySQL databases are often slow. At times, my WordPress and Drupal sites take a few seconds or more to load -- and these are not big sites with lots of data. When I've asked them about it, they say it's my problem not theirs. I'm going to try Hot Drupal since that has gotten some good reviews here.
Currently using FREE GoDaddy
Currently using FREE GoDaddy service bundled with domain registration. SLOW. No server/error logs available unless upgrade to paid service. Phone support feels creepy. Salesman-ish. GoDaddy webpage looks really bad. I don't know why I let myself do it. Now I'm looking to migrate a Drupal site to another host. Any suggestions? I'm leaning toward site5.
Godaddy Rocks!
Yeah thats right they Rock....
For domain registration, since they are cheap. They suck for hosting. They have so many things disabled and certain PHP extension not installed. Don't use them for any serious scripting sites. I used them for a year or two for some small sites but once I started doing some serious development I found their servers to be lacking.
