Description

HI I am unsure of what to do with the style sheet and can't figure out what you mean by set up virtual host and can't figure out what the higher visibility website is for. I am setting up different frontpages with te advanced front page option and inserted html in the authenticated user box and am getting the text. But none of the pix etc which I guess is what the style sheet is for. I really want to get past designing my front page and onto the features of my site so any help will be extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi ifhubcom,

atck.highervisibilitywebsites.com has the documentation for the project as well as a the template builder. You only need to worry about setting up a virtual host if you want to run all of that stuff on your own computer/server (which honestly is more than most people will need/want to worry about).

As far as the stylesheet goes - if you are having a hard time and are not already somewhat xhtml/css savvy it might make more sense for you to grab a more ready-to-go theme and start there rather than atck.

Regards,
Caleb

Aww Caleb is there little hope for me to figure this out? I get html but when I stick the style sheet html into the header it pops up on the screen as html. I have a script I want to use as my front page. The way it looks is very important to me. A basic theme just will not do. Are you suggesting that I go learn xhtml and css and it would all make sense?

ok an update...I'm finally getting it! I got the style sheet inserted !!!!Now I just can't figure out how to insert the images. Can you check it out at lfhub.com? I embedded the styl sheet in the header. I was forgetting the Now I'm wondering how to insert the dang images. I have the images uploaded into my atck-->css folder so I'm guessing that I need to link it to those files...I found the code to link stylesheet to css but that wasn't working so I went embedded instead but I can't figure out how to embed an image or the code to link to an image...I will continue to google but if somebody can toss me a life line I'd sooo appreciate it...I'm in tears that I got this far...I'm really in tears has taken 4 long days to figure out this much.

update: yea I got one of my images to show!!!! I moved my file...it was in a folder under atck/themes/image704/head moved it to just plain ol public_html and bam!! I think I got a hang of it now!!! Npw to figure out why the other images aren't doing the same. :)

update: Done and done...the picture wasn't popping up because the html stated .gif but the image was .jpg...changed the html and bam...go me go me!!!

Good job, ifhubcom. Keep pecking away. It's the only way to learn - and indeed can be fun and rewarding. :-)
