I thought I would give Apture a try on my Drupal 5.x site and the process required adding some JavaScript right before the close body tag on each and every page. After spending a bit of time with the Drupal documentation, and in this forum, I decided to add the code directly to the page.tpl.php file for the theme I'm using.
This works, but I'm wondering if there is a better way to do this? Something through the HTML interface that would apply to any theme I choose to work with? I've been running Drupal for a while now, but haven't got into much customization, so I have no idea what the best practice is for these sorts of changes.
And if you'd like to see Apture running in Drupal, or the steps I took to enable it, check out http://www.wholemap.com/blog/Getting-Apture-running-in-5-minutes-on-Drupal I've also included their intro video to give you a better idea of how the process works.
I like how it displays Wikipedia links directly within a CSS popup, but I'm not sure if overall Apture will irritate readers more than it is worth.
