dopry CreditAttribution: dopry commentedEaton is my first choice, He tends to have a good insight into conceptual changes and has been a very responsible maintainer. Morbus would be my second choice, his attention to detail is impeccable, but his personality can be *grating* ;). Barry, I don't know well and haven't had much experience with the code he has written or his skills as a maintainer.

mfer CreditAttribution: mfer commentedWhen drupal 7 is released we won't be supporting drupal 5 anymore (unless some long term support decision was made that I don't know about). When should the drupal 5 maintainer be removed from the maintainers file?
alexanderpas CreditAttribution: alexanderpas commentedin my opinion, removal of drupal 5 maintainer should be a seperate issue from this one, so, i'm putting this on RTBC.
