Hi Everybody,

I have created a database with several companies.
now these companies are displayed in a list with their logos using views for easy access.. what I want to be able to do is to re-organize these companies according to weight (which I created as a field). The problem I see is that I don't have an easy interface to organize content easily if I want to move a company from position 50 to 30 I have to open that company node and change the order.

wouldn't it be easier if there is an interface where can change the weight of multiple nodes all at once?

is such a thing available?

I have been looking for something like this some time ago, but I ended up doing what you describe: create a 'weight' field and edit every node, one by one. However this is not funny when you have to do a large number of nodes (fortunately, I only had about 8 nodes to sort). I guess it would be faster to edit it directly in the database, using phpmyadmin, but this is not a nice solution. I am very interested to hear about other people's solutions. Maybe someone could write a module for this?

yes, this should be done easily but I can't find anything about it, I have over 70+ nodes to sort, I really can't do it thru the database because website publisher should be able to do it thru the drupal interface,

The only reason I see it possible is because I see it in one place in the drupal interface which is under
Administer > Content Types > "click on a specific content type you created" > Manage Fields

in there you are able to move content type fields around the way you want all in one place.. very easy to do...

maybe other people can tell us about their experiences
