themes and modules for ecommerce in drupal 6.2

I just get started working with drupal 6.2, and i dowloaded some themes and modules but mostly are not compatible, hows that? So wanted to shift to drupal 5.x, would it be easier?

Drupal 5.x has more modules and themes available then 6.x at this point. 6.x is still in it's infancy for teh most part with regards to modules and themes. In most cases you tend to be better off working a release behind. When 7.x is released and the bulk of Drupal users move to 6.x modules and themes get ported faster as there is more of a demand for them. At that point once you are sure all modules you've used in a 5.x build have been ported, you can then freely move to Drupal 6.x
