Issue Summary
Hello again, thanks for working on this, I really do like this module a lot - but I was thinking that perhaps there could be a way to press a button and test the connection in the Configure LDAP Server tab? Just something that alerts the user what is going wrong in the config string. Like a cannot: connect/bind/search error. Would have helped me tons to evaluate what was wrong with my initial configuration.

This is implemented in the Drupal 6 version of the module.
