This happens in some of other themes. Is there a fix to it?

the quickest fix is to use an updated browser : )

Someone who still uses the ancient IE6 will have to debug this if you can't. Finding someone to do that who does still use IE6 is going to be a chore.

That does not occur with Garland Theme.

So its related to your theme, you need to fix it.
