Event Repeat: User defined repeating dates

Description

Currently, event repeat only allows for x-day, week, month, year pattern OR 'Count' repeat (which seems a bit buggy). A third 'User Defined' option would be VERY useful. The user could enter a second date, then hit the 'add another date' button (another date input box appears), then enter a third date, then hit the 'add another date' button, and so on.

This would be useful for a Monday/Wednesday/Friday class that fits in neither the x-day, week, month pattern or the 'Count' pattern. Similarly, a concert tour may have the 'same' repeating content, on different dates, but dont fit the current x-day, week, month pattern or the 'Count' pattern.

On the surface, this seems like a pretty easy thing to implement. I would appreciate any attempts to this patch.

Thank you very much,
Kelly

Did you turn on the advanced features in the settings page? These may help you get what you want. They are turned off by default because, basically, the interface needs a rework.

I've looked thru the advanced features, and while there are a number of combinations - it seems quite difficult to interpret. I still dont understand how I would add a Monday, Wednesday, Friday event, or events that repeat, but no on any specific pattern (like a concert tour). I also understand from the bug report that many of the combinations do not function as intended.

Consider simplifying the advanced features interface by simply adding a user-defined field where the user could enter the date (any date, or select from the JS Calendar, etc)....if more dates are needed, hit the 'add a new date' button, enter the date, and so on. I think this would solve some of the UI issues, and still provide another userful way to repeat events.

Thanks,
Kelly
