How do I safely delete/uninstall without crippling my site

I initially installed TM 5.x-1.x-dev with the effect that the settings page is not quite right and doesn't give the option to show node count for each category/term .
I have tried TM 5.x-1.03 on my development site and it works fine the way I want , but no matter how I try to remove the 5.x-1.x-dev , it doesn't budge . What tables can I safely drop from my database in order to reinstall TM 5.x-1.03 without destroying my site ?

Just stating the obvious: did you try the uninstall?
No follow-ups for over a year.
