When creating a text field and selecting "Data settings/Text processing/Filtered text (user selects input format)", saving, then returning to the field, I enter some php as the Default value and select PHP Code as the Default value Input format and save.
The Default value is saved, but the Default value Input format reverts to the site default (Full HTML). There is no sign that the Default value Input format is being saved in the node_field_instance table. I would expect to find it in the widget_settings data.

anthonym commentedSimilar issue here. PHP not saved as input format although default text which contains php code would require it. This seems to be at odds with the "Text processing: Filtered text (user selects input format): check box. Perhaps this checkbox should not reset the saved default format back to filtered text.

asak commentedYea i can't get this to work.
My problem is that i then need users with no access to the "Full HTML" filter to sumbit nodes with hidden (formfilter) cck fields which requite "Full HTML"...
But getting the basics working is first...

mattrweaver commentedI have this problem as well. Can the other formats be added to the "Text processing" options, which currently reads "Plain Text" and "Filtered Text"?
I don't know why you are given the option to set a default value for a field, when it isn't saved.
