Where does one expect to find settings? Right! under the header "settings". This patch moves the node config stuff to where most people expect it [1] to be: under settings. the 'problem' is mostly caused by the fact there is but a small tab "configure" and that is hidden under administer content, where one expects to administer content,
[1] A while ago I created a site consistent.drupaldevs.org after studying behaviour of some of my clients and non-techies. This node configure thing was most obvious outcome of that study.

killes@www.drop.org commentedI like it too.
But can we please have a page "menu items that have been moved after the last release" in the handbook?
Bèr Kessels commentedbah, this is not a bug.
junyor commentedHow about moving the comment configuration page at the same time? Is there anything else that should be moved?
Bèr Kessels commentedyes, the user stuff, dealt with here http://drupal.org/node/25632
Comment #6
moshe weitzman commentedplease don't pollute this patch with "lets move comments too" or "anything else that should be moved." open a new issue in that case.

kbahey commented+1 on the concept
I find it inconsistent and confusing that some settings are not under admin/settings/modulename
Comment #8
dries commentedWe shouldn't use 'nodes' in output. Shall I change it to 'posts' or 'content'?
Bèr Kessels commentedI prefer "posts". for we already have "content".
