I use 2 different user types. Type2 uses a subset of profile fields that Type2 uses. Example: Type2 uses profile fields A and B, while Type1 uses A, B, C, and D.

When a user tries to change from Type1 to Type2, he gets the warning that "Changing the user type will lose data in fields which are removed." This is exactly what I want: for profile fields C &D to NO LONGER be associated with that user. But those 2 profile fields remain in user's profile page.
