OG User Roles: Group Logo

Last updated on
30 April 2025

OG User Roles 3.0 provided a new Block titled "Group Logo". This feature was deprecated in the following versions (#601364: no Group Logo block or upload form) and 6.x-3.x versions are no longer recommended by the module maintainers.

This block can be placed on your site to appear whenever a user is in an OG group context.

As of OG User Roles version 3.0, on the "Edit" page of your groups you will now see an option:

  • Location of group logo?:
  • Enter either the local file path or the remote URL for the image to be used as the logo for this group. Enter one of the following formats: http://www.example.com/yourlogo.gif (for remote file) or files/yourlogo.gif (for local file). You can attach the file you wish to use to this group using the File attachments section in the group node edit form, then supply local path here once the file is uploaded (attached).

    Your logo image must not exceed the size dimensions which are set in OGR General Settings under Group Logo Attributes.

    Go to Admin->Site Building->Blocks and place the Block titled "Group Logo" into the position you would like it to appear on your group pages.

  • Printer-Friendly Group Logo Display
  • This "group logo" can also be configured to be printed on your "Printer-Friendly" pages instead of the main site logo (assuming you have the Printer-Friendly module installed: http://www.drupal.org/project/print) when you are viewing group pages. To do print your group logos on printer-friendly pages, go to:

    Admin->Site Configuration->Printer Friendly
    (/admin/settings/print)

    In the "Logo URL" field enter "oglogo" as in:

    http://www.example.com/oglogo

    This will cause your main site logo to be replaced by the group logo of the group you are currently in when viewing a printer-friendly page.
